Shut Down Windows Fast You're a busy person, your schedule packed with important appointments and tasks. You don't have room for wasted time or motion. You've replaced all the buttons on your shirts with snaps. You have your ties pre-tied at the cleaners. You pay a local high-school student to stop and smell your roses. We won't comment on the dangers of this type of lifestyle. Instead, we encourage it by passing along a way to shut down Windows 95 with one, instead of three, mouse clicks: 1. Right-click any blank area of the desktop. 2. Choose New + Shortcut from the shortcut menu. 3. In the Command Line box, type "c:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindows" (without the quotes). 4. Click Next. 5. Name the new shortcut Shut Down Fast! 6. Click Finish. A new "Shut Down Fast!" icon appears on your desktop. Double click it, and Windows shuts down instantly, without your having to click another thing. |
